To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee Lee Eclipse - Stephenie Meyer The Walking Dead, Compendium 1 - Cliff Rathburn, Charlie Adlard, Tony Moore, Robert Kirkman Girl, Interrupted - Susanna Kaysen

Yikes. I can't believe I got so far behind. So, sorry for all the posts that are coming. D=

Day 19: Favorite book turned into a movie.

Not sure if this is asking which of my favorite books were turned into movies or my favorite book turned movie. If it is the former I answered this question on Day 14.

As for the latter . . . I don't really have a favorite, so I'll list some of the decent ones.

To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee

It's been a long, long time since I've seen this movie, but I recall it being very good and decent adaptation of the book.

Eclipse - Stephenie Meyer

Okay, bear with me on this one. I'm not saying the movie was great, BUT I fucking hated this book with the fiery passion of a thousand suns. The entire series sucks royally but this book was the worst of the bunch. However, the movie was watchable. There were even parts that were good popcorn fare. I didn't spend the entire movie wanting to punch people in the face or set everyone on fire. So for improving on a seriously shitastic book I'm putting it on the list.  (Would have been better if Riley had made out with Charlie in that one scene though, just saying . . .)

The Walking Dead: Compendium One - Robert Kirkman

This wasn't made into a movie, but a TV show that kicks all kinds of ass. The show has its problems, but overall it's one of my favorites on TV now. And even though it deviates completely from the book in many ways it's still fun to spot what is the same and what is different.

Girl, Interrupted - Susanna Kaysen

It's been a long time since I've seen this one, too. But I recall it being a decent adaptation of the book into a movie. Plus, Angelina Jolie, obvs.
